Ichigo (CONC-A-53)'s Story
DOB: 9/4/2023

Ichigo is a tall, lanky pup with a heart full of love and energy to spare. Surrendered to us as a young puppy due to a life change in his previous family, Ichigo is now nearly two years old and has spent most of his life growing up in the shelter. As a result, he’s held onto some puppy-like behaviors and is still learning how to navigate the world outside.

At around 60 pounds, Ichigo is an active, high-strung boy who thrives on movement and mental stimulation. He’d be happiest in a home that can offer him structure, continued training, and a “job” to help him channel his energy—whether it’s daily walks, puzzle toys, or just a consistent routine to keep his mind and body busy. He’s smart, eager to please, and would blossom with the right balance of activity and guidance.

While Ichigo can be shy and uncertain around new people, he warms up with time and patience. Don’t be discouraged if he needs a couple of meet-and-greets to feel comfortable—it’s just his way of making sure you're someone he can trust. Once he does, you'll find he’s incredibly affectionate and absolutely loves being rubbed and cuddling with his favorite humans.

Ichigo would do best in a home without children, as he’s still learning impulse control and can get overwhelmed by too much activity or unpredictability. While he might prefer being the only dog in the household, he could potentially live with another well-matched canine companion after a successful introduction.

If you’re an experienced, active adopter looking for a loyal, loving companion with a playful spirit and lots of potential, Ichigo might just be the perfect fit. He’s waiting patiently for a family that will give him the structure, understanding, and love he deserves—could that be you?

If you're ready to welcome this charming curly-tailed boy into your home, call (704) 784-7387 to schedule a meeting with Ichigo.
