Huxley's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Huxley's momma was adopted from a high kill shelter in West Texas. Her adopter was told she was fully vetted and low and behold a few weeks later out popped puppies. He and his siblings were split between us and another local MN rescue. They love other dogs and are around young children. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.
Hi, my name is Huxley! I arrived in Minnesota in October 2024. I am a very sweet boy who loves to give kisses. I am timid around new people, but once I get to know you, I want to be best friends. I absolutely love other dogs and would love to have a dog brother or sister to play with! I have not been around cats for extended periods of time. I love sleeping in my foster mom’s bed at night; she gets a pillow and I get my own! I do a pretty good job of going to the bathroom outside, but if my foster parents are at work and I have to go while I’m in my kennel, I will do that. My foster mom has me on a potty schedule, and I won’t have accidents in the house if the schedule is followed. I am an energetic boy who would benefit from a family who likes being active! I am a good walker on the leash most of the time, but if a dog is barking at me, sometimes I want to see what the noise is about! In between those walks, I play in the yard with my foster siblings! I am good in my kennel; as soon as my foster mom opens the treat jar, I will run to my crate so I can eat my treat! Food, treats, and bones are the key to my heart! I ride great in the car; I sit on the floor of the backseat and don’t make a peep. If you’re looking to add a big dopey boy to your family, apply for me today!
Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.

Matty's Heart & Soul Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet. Your desire to provide a loving forever home to a rescued animal helps us in our mission. When adopting a pet, you have the option of picking one from an animal shelter or a rescue organization. Both are good options, however, an animal rescue – like Matty's Heart & Soul Animal Rescue, is completely volunteer-run and as a charitable organization we are funded through donations. Our animals are in foster homes and we do everything we can to learn as much about their likes and dislikes, temperament and activity level as we can while in foster care. By doing so, it enables us to work more closely with potential adopters to do our best to help ensure a “good fit.” The adoption process might take a bit longer than adopting from a shelter or humane organization, but our goal is finding a match that benefits both the pet and the family interested in adopting. We place dogs and cats in loving, responsible, committed foster homes until the comprehensive adoption process is complete. The adoption process includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a new pet into their homes and lives. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference, background check and a home visit. Pets in our care are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and are up to date on rabies, da2pp, distemper, bordatella, and are tested and treated for parasites/worms, heartworm (if over 6 months), and Feline Leukemia/ Feline HIV, as well as any other veterinary care that is needed. Adoption fees are as follows: Dogs under 3 years = $350 plus tax Dogs 3 years and over = $300 plus tax Cats under 3 years= $200 plus tax Cats 3yrs and over =$150 plus tax
