Huxley's Story

Meet Huxley

The rescue of Huxley and his sister Halsey marks the end of an almost 6 month ordeal that started back in March when their mom, Helly, was picked up as a stray in Upson County. It was obvious Helly was nursing puppies when she was found. Shelter volunteers were able to find out that she belonged to an unhoused person in the area who still had her puppies but refused to give them up. Fast forward to August when this person was arrested on felony drug charges and sent to jail but only one puppy was recovered- Harkin. Then just a few weeks ago, the woman's boyfriend reached out to animal control willing to surrender the two remaining puppies- FINALLY!

Halsey and Huxley are now 7 months old. Despite having grown up moving from encampment to encampment, these two puppies are amazingly sweet and social. They've already outgrown their mom, so we are assuming dad(s) must have been bigger and so we really have no idea how big they will be when all is said and done but they won't be giant by any means. Great with other dogs and still having a good amount of puppy left in them, these guys are looking for an active family with at least one other playful adult dog in the home.

Interested in adopting, or even fostering? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org

PLEASE NOTE: RMG requires an adult dog in the home for all puppy adoptions. This is a STRICT requirement

Rescue Me Ga Inc's Adoption Policy
We have an application process that we require for any adoption. The application can be found on our website at www.rmgdogs.org - its the first step in our process and required before we set up a time for you to meet the dog you are interested in …. ALL of our dogs are completely vetted - all vaccines - spay or neuter - dewormings - chip - heart worm tested and treated if needed and ready to be loved. WE are foster based which means our dogs are in homes or temporary boarding when we rescue them -- we know their personalities and what would be their best fit! Our dogs come from a rural Georgia shelter and often we take in surrenders from families facing difficult situations….. WE do post many dogs still in need at animal control as well as all who have been saved already that are in foster homes. We do NOT operate a facility where you can visit the dogs unless you contact us to possibly meet one already in a foster
