Hutch's Story
Meet Hutch!
Hutch is an approximately 2-year-old pup who came to FMAR as an owner surrender when his person fell on hard times. Despite having some ups and downs and spending time in shelter environments, Hutch has remained a loving, playful, and very easygoing boy.

Fun fact: Hutch shares a name with a certain well-known Michigan football star — and just like his namesake, he’s strong, energetic, and ready to be part of a winning team.

So far, Hutch has been a pleasure to work with. He’s friendly, affectionate, and eager to engage with the people around him. He does need a bit of continued work on leash skills and jumping manners, but with some consistency and guidance, he should be an easy dog to handle and train. Hutch already knows a couple of basic commands, showing that he’s smart and ready to keep learning.

Hutch has shown little to no reaction to cats and seems interested in playing with other dogs when given proper introductions. He would likely love a dog sibling to help burn off some energy and keep him company. He is also crate trained, which will help make his transition into a new home smoother and less stressful.

As we continue to get to know Hutch, he’s proving to be the kind of dog who will thrive with routine, positive reinforcement, and plenty of love. If you’re looking for a young, playful companion who is social, adaptable, and full of potential, Hutch may be the perfect addition to your family.

If you would like to meet Hutch, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received.

**Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
