Hurricane's Story
Meet Hurricane!
(More pics and videos available on the "adopt a pal animal rescue" Facebook page.)

He was found as a local stray, so we can’t know anything with 100% certainty — but he looks and acts exactly like a Black Lab (possibly a mix). He’s estimated to be about 5 months old and already 41 lbs, so expect a big, happy boy when he’s grown.

In the photo/video Hurricane is pictured with his foster brother — an adult charcoal Lab — just for size comparison.

Personality-wise?
Pure sunshine. Hurricane LOVES everyone. He’s got that classic Lab vibe: happy-go-lucky, a little doofy, and convinced that everyone and everything wants to be his friend. His favorite activity in the world is wrestling.

He’s very friendly, but fair warning: some dogs may find him annoyingly playful. He is submissive when corrected… but then he happily comes right back for more play. Because puppies.

He’d love a dog friend, but that dog needs to be very playful, tolerant, and well-mannered. He could be an only dog too — but only with a very active adopter who has a solid plan to keep him exercised and mentally entertained.

The good stuff (and there’s a lot):
*Kennels quietly with no accidents — up to 9 hours overnight and during the workday
*Shockingly non-destructive for his age (no chewing, no puppy-proofing needed so far!)
*When playtime ends, he’ll happily lay down with a toy
*Super smart and eager
*Kids are fine, but because he’s a large, jumpy puppy, best for ages 5+

Cats & small dogs:
He’s met cats and is very friendly, but he does try to wrestle when excited. Dog savvy cats would be fine with proper introduction. Small dogs should be supervised at first until he learns better manners, and probably aren't his ideal playmate.

Home setup notes:
Hurricane would probably prefer a home with a physically fenced yard. He’s clearly not very experienced on leash yet — he’ll stop to scratch at it, or just… stop and stare at you like “what is this thing?” His foster home doesn't have a fence, so it's not a deal breaker....but it's a little annoying so consider yourself warned haha. Leash training and continued house-training will be important. (For what it’s worth, he pottied perfectly outside when he visited a fenced yard.) ***belly band in video is in case of accidents...no marking, he squats to pee**

Bottom line: Hurricane is a fantastic, loving, playful Lab-type puppy who is going to make an amazing family dog for the right home.

And yes… his coat really is that shiny black

Apply now — dogs like Hurricane don’t last long!
