He’s a 2-year-old, 19-lb poodle who’s settling in beautifully in his foster home. Hunter is now settling in beautifully in his foster home. He loves following the dog around, and it’s been sweet watching him learn from his new “mentor.” Everything is still very new to him, but he’s been enjoying exploring the backyard and taking in the world at his own pace.<br/><br/>Being a breeder release, Hunter is still learning what it feels like to trust people—and he’s been so open to receiving love. He’s a great eater and probably can’t believe that he doesn’t have to fight for his food anymore. He absolutely loves being petted, and it warms our hearts to see him relax, lie down, and truly rest now that he knows he’s safe.<br/><br/>Next level unlocked! Zero accidents for the past 4 days and counting! Hunter has been doing amazing with his potty training—and he has started doing his business during walks, something he figured out all on his own.<br/><br/>We’re just so proud of this boy. He’s much more confident inside the house now, like he finally knows he’s safe and loved. He’s a good eater, doesn’t fight over food, and comes to us for scratches—never demanding, just sweet.<br/><br/>The best part? The way he runs and jumps around in the backyard. He bounces side to side on all fours like a little sheep or goat, and it’s absolutely hilarious! We hope to catch it on video one of these days. Maybe he was exposed to goats before his rescue?<br/><br/>Hunter is truly a special boy, and we hope he finds a forever family just as special as he is.<br/><br/>Shy dog classes will help him with his transition. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN.
