Hunter's Story

Hi, I’m Hunter! I’m an 8-year-old male miniature poodle and weigh around 18 lbs.

I spent my first 7 years living in an Amish puppy mill and was dropped off at a vet clinic when I was too old for breeding.

I live with other dogs of all sizes (20-100 lbs) and do fine with them. I can be a little bossy at times, so would do best with other dogs who tolerate that. I would probably be calmer in a house with one or two calm dogs (right now I live with puppies and they can get me overexcited). I might be ok as an only dog too. If someone is interested in me, we could do a foster-to-adopt program to check it out. I would probably be fine with cats and can test if you need. I shouldn’t be in a home with children.

I seem to be more comfortable around female adults and follow them around for attention. I have to trust you first and then I will want petted!

I am crate trained and happily eat my meals in the crate. I should wear belly bands in the home as I work on housetraining. I am spry and healthy but don’t have much of an exercise requirement. It might be easier if you had a fenced yard but that is not currently a requirement. As far as toys, I love playing with my ball and like to paw at it and roll it around.

Hope to find my family soon!
