Meet Hunter, our feral desert pup who was never been touched by humans before us. We started seeing him around the rescue more and more, each time lingering a bit longer. We knew we were slowly gaining his trust, and we didn’t want to lose that progress. But one morning, we had no choice, we had to trap him to get him to safety. And even though we knew it would set us back emotionally with him, we also knew it might be his only shot at surviving. Throughout the entire rescue process, even scared and unsure, Hunter never once tried to bite or hurt anyone. Not for a second. That tells you everything about the kind of dog he really is. Hunter went from only hiding. <br/>Since then, Hunter has been growing every single day. He went from hiding deep in his igloo, avoiding all contact, to now asking for pets, cuddles, and playing with toys. He’s discovered the joy of splashing in his little pool and even seeks out human affection.
