Humphrey is an almost 5-year-old, 98-pound mix of Pit Bull, German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever and Border Collie who has been waiting for his forever home since October 14, 2025. He's also a graduate of the Coffeewood Canines Training Program and came back to us with a great foundation and plenty of skills under his belt.<br/><br/>That's quite a mix packed into one very large dog—smart, loyal, active and deeply connected to his people.<br/><br/>Humphrey wants more from life than watching the world from a kennel. He loves toys, getting outside and having something to do, and he'd make a fantastic adventure buddy for someone looking for a dog who's ready to go along for the ride.<br/><br/>He's potty trained, knows his basics and thrives with structure, routine and clear expectations. Humphrey bonds deeply with his people and genuinely enjoys working with someone he trusts.<br/><br/>Humphrey has become more selective with other dogs, so introductions should be slow and thoughtful. He may also be perfectly happy as the only dog in his home.<br/><br/>Cats are a little more complicated. Outside, Humphrey is very interested in them and wants to chase. Inside the cat room, he's much less confident and seems unsure of them. Because we've seen different reactions depending on the setting, we can't confidently say Humphrey is cat-friendly, and a cat-free home may be the safest fit.<br/><br/>Humphrey isn't looking for a home where he's expected to entertain himself day after day. He needs someone who will include him, give him things to do and let him use that big brain and big body.
