Hugo 's Story
Meet Hugo!

Hugo is a handsome mixed-breed boy, about 1 year old and roughly 70 pounds of love and goofiness. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and will go home with a health certificate — ready to start his next chapter.

Hugo’s early life wasn’t easy. He was likely dumped and found wandering near a highway before eventually turning up again nearly 7 miles away. Whether he made that journey on his own or was picked up and abandoned again, we may never know — but what we do know is that none of it dimmed his sweet spirit.

In foster care, Hugo has shown just how wonderful he is. He’s been out and about with his foster mom, including trips to public places, a self-serve dog wash, and even a restaurant patio — where he behaved like a perfect gentleman. He’s friendly, fun, and easygoing, always happy to play with his dog friends and tending to be more on the submissive side.

At home, Hugo is a very good boy. He appears to be potty trained, does well inside the house, and can be trusted loose with other dogs — even for several hours — without destroying anything. He walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and is perfectly content curling up on a cozy couch for some cuddle time.

Hugo has lived around cats and means no harm; he may gently nuzzle or ruffle their fur out of curiosity. Cats that are confident don’t seem bothered at all, but a home with cat-savvy introductions would be ideal to help everyone feel comfortable.

Overall, Hugo is a friendly, well-mannered, affectionate young dog who just wants a family to call his own. After everything he’s been through, he’s more than ready for a stable, loving forever home — and he’ll be an amazing companion to whoever gives him that chance.

https://www.livefreerescue.com/adoption-application
