Hughie's Story

This is Hughie! He is a lab mix, about 4 years old. Neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention. He is looking for his forever home. We found him on the side of the highway last year and he's been a great addition to our home but we were just fostering him until he was neutered and ready to be adopted.<br/><br/>He is fantastic with other dogs of all ages and sizes and playstyles. He is very socially smart. In shelter dog behavior terms, he is a "helper dog." He also loves every person he's ever met. He currently lives well with cats, but any future cat siblings would need to be dog-savvy since he does like to chase them sometimes. <br/><br/>Hughie is potty trained, does OK in a crate but is not destructive when left roaming inside. He walks nicely on a leash and loves to hike but is also a good couch potato. He does know how to open gates and can climb fences, so any yard time needs to be supervised but he's pretty happy with a walk and then sleeping inside for the rest of the day. Loves to cuddle. Each of our cats has a specific foster caretaker who will be in touch with individuals who inquire about adopting one of our available cats. They will ask questions to understand the candidate's interests in the cat and the home life expected for them. It is our team's goal to match-make the cat to the owner and vice versa. Please note that we reserve the right to decline to make the cat available for adoption, if we do not think there is a fit.
