He’s playful, silly, and full of personality — the type of pup who can make you laugh one minute and melt your heart the next.<br/><br/>He loves a nice walk where he can take in all the sights and smells, and he’s always up for some pets and attention along the way. Huey is good with other dogs and has a friendly, easygoing nature that makes him a joy to be around.<br/><br/>Whether it’s an afternoon adventure or a cozy evening curled up on the couch, Huey is happiest when he’s with his people. If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing companion who will bring a little extra joy to your life every single day, Huey’s your guy! <br/><br/>Huey is a cute Lab mix. He's a year old and he weighs 60 lbs.<br/><br/>Sadly, HUEY tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get him into a home during his treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about his heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering him (we’d love to find him a foster home!). Once his treatment plan is completed, Huey will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions!<br/><br/> <br/><br/><br/>ADOPTING A PET<br/>We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.<br/><br/>If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).<br/><br/>FOSTERING<br/>Can't commit to adoption but still want to help us save lives? Consider fostering by filling out our foster application at https://www.kckpd.org/Animal-Services/Foster-a-Pet. All supplies are provided.
