Huey's Story

Meet Huey
Life of the Party
Breed: Miniature Heeler
Age: 3 months (as of July)
Gender: Male
Size: Small to Medium
House Trained: Close, but still has a few accidents
Crate Trained: Stressed at first, then settles
Good with: Dogs, kids of all ages
Needs: Basic obedience training

Huey is a happy, wild, and incredibly lovable puppy who has been through a lot in his short life and come out the other side wagging his tail. Huey is the only surviving puppy of his litter. He was pulled from a hoarding house of over 70 dogs. Early in his life, he broke his leg and needed major orthopedic surgery. During his leg surgery recovery, Huey had to be hospitalized for pneumonia. Thanks to the support of our community (and his strong little spirit), Huey is on the mend and searching for his forever home! He won’t be able to go home until the end of July, when he gets an all clear from his vet, but we are currently taking applications.

Huey is the definition of social. He adores people, other dogs, and being in the middle of the action. He's the kind of pup who wants to be underfoot, not because he’s clingy, but because he just loves being near his people. He would thrive in a home that embraces his fun-loving energy and gives him the structure and training a young puppy needs.

? Dog-friendly
? Kid-friendly
? Sleeps hard after play
?? Crate training is still a work in progress (he prefers freedom and cozy corners!)
?? Potty training is close, just needs consistency

Huey would make a wonderful family dog. He’ll need daily walks, positive training, and a home that’s ready for puppy energy and puppy love in equal measure. If you’re looking for a pup who’s already shown how strong and sweet he is, Huey might be your perfect match.

Apply online at freddiebsfurryfriendsrescue.org
