Huey's Story

Courtesy Post - Meet Huey

This adorable boxer mix was born in November last year (2024) and weighs 50 lbs. He is up to date on his vaccinations and he has been neutered and microchipped. He is ready to find his forever home.

Like all young dogs, Huey loves daily walks and playtime, and would happily accompany his people on outdoor adventures. He is also fine with settling down to have a nap and cuddle afterwards. He is kennel trained, house trained and knows sit, stay, down, watch me and touch cues. Treats and praise easily motivate him. He continues to work on leash skills and does well walking on his Halti harness. He is loving, loyal and entertaining. Huey has lived compatibly with children. This boy's ideal home would have a yard and would be in the suburbs. He needs to be the only dog. Dog parks aren't his thing as he is selective with his friends and doesn't always respect the boundaries of smaller dogs. He has been attending a daycare in Richmond where he is working on his social skills in small play groups. His current foster dad is an ARC trainer who is enjoying teaching this bright dog who is very willing to learn. ARC is committed to supporting Huey and his family after his adoption.
