Meet Huckleberry #mr-congeniality
Hey there, everyone! I’m Huckleberry, and I’m a very sweet, loving, and handsome 47-pound black Labrador mix fella with mesmerizing gold eyes who was born about February 2022. My hoomans think that my little under-bite is adorable, and my tongue sticks out just a little when I'm happy and relaxed. I’m a bonafide cuddle bug with medium energy who enjoys lounging around with my foster family. I’m very sociable and think backyard cookouts with my friends are wonderful.
One of my favorite parts of the day is when Foster Mom takes me on nice walks because of all the new hooman and doggie friends whom I meet. I’m a perfect gentleman on a leash and can even walk off-leash if Foster Mom asks me. When kids and other dogs come to visit, I enjoy playing with them in the back yard.
I’m a smart dude who’s already learned to “sit” and “shake.” I’m mostly house-trained and crate-trained, but Foster Mom prefers to leave me in a bathroom when she’s gone for a long time. I do fine and can be left alone all day, although, of course, I prefer it when my foster family is home to keep me company!
I have quite a startling rescue story because I was a stray who jumped into a neighborhood swimming pool during the hard-freeze. I’m grateful that my now-Foster Mom helped me get out as well as gave me a warm bed and lots of snuggles. She soon learned that my last owner had neglected me because I was unneutered and heartworm positive. She did her due diligence trying to find my family but was unsuccessful, so she turned to Miss Donna to find me a fantastic family to give me all the love that I deserve. I’d fit like a glove in many households because I get along so well with kids and other dogs.

Huckleberry is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, and microchipped. He tested positive for heartworms and is undergoing treatment, which his Foster Mom will continue to fund after adoption. His adoption fee is $250 for dogs older than 9 months. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
