Huckleberry's Story

If you’ve been dreaming of a loyal sidekick with a sense of adventure and a classic hound song, Huckleberry might just be your guy.

Huckleberry is a small hound, about a year and a half old, and already impressively well-trained. He knows his basic commands, walks beautifully on both a leash and long line, and does well with thoughtful introductions to other dogs. He’s the kind of dog who makes you look good on walks — attentive, polite, and eager to please.

True to his hound roots, Huckleberry does bray and isn’t shy about sharing his opinions! He’s also working through some separation anxiety, but he’s making wonderful progress every day. He’s currently on Clomicalm to help support him through this learning phase, and with consistency and a settled routine, he can be weaned off once he’s comfortable in his forever home.

What really makes Huckleberry shine is his personality. He loves people, greets the world with a happy heart, and is always ready for the next adventure. Car rides? Yes please. Exploring new places? Even better. Whether it’s a trail, a road trip, or just tagging along for daily errands, Huckleberry is happiest when he’s included.

Cats are still an unknown for him, but with the right home and guidance, Huckleberry has all the potential to be an incredible companion for someone who appreciates a fun-loving, affectionate hound with a big personality and an even bigger heart.

If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy who’s already got the basics down and is ready to keep growing with you — Huckleberry is waiting. 💛
