Meet Howard FOSTER HOME NEEDED
6 years old, 57 pounds. FOSTER HOME NEEDED!
Howard has had a sad life. Howard spent the first year or more of his life on a chain. He had very little human interaction. When we found him, we were trying to catch some puppies that had been dumped behind his house. The puppy was curled up with Howard sleeping. Howard was so upset when we took his friend. It took a few weeks but we eventually talked the owner into releasing Howard to us. Howard did great in the kennel house playing for the first month. He gained 10 lbs, grew his missing hair back and played his heart out. But then he suddenly decided he didn't like certain large male dogs and that is when Howard started his life in a pen outback :(
Howard has play friends, oddly enough, mostly large male pit bulls. It all depends on personality. Now that Howard has been with us for years and has become a mature adult dog, he no longer likes to play much. He is sad. He just sits alone all day and when the other dogs run to his pen, he no longer place chase with them, he just goes in his dog house. It makes me want to cry b/c he is super sweet and deserves a home.
At night, Howard comes inside to his crate. He sleeps all night and when I let him out in the morning he runs to the water bowl then happily bounces out to his pen where he starts his lonely day.
Howard is smart and sweet and full of kisses. He walks well on leash after a few corrections to not pull. He loves to cuddle and can be a little over the top for attention b/c he doesn't get that much. He ADORES PEOPLE and we are DESPERATE TO FIND HIM A HOME.
All dogs are fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and Heartworm negative unless otherwise noted. We require an adoption application, home visit and adoption fee of $150 You also get a two week trial period with all of our dogs. To apply, simply go to www.forgottenpaws.com.
