This big-hearted boy is the ultimate mellow companion - happy to just be near his people, whether lounging in the yard or tagging along for a car ride with his head out the window.<br/><br/> Personality & Lifestyle:<br/>Laid-back and affectionate<br/>Loves belly rubs, naps, deck time, pond walks, canoe rides, and cruising in the car<br/>A true people dog - happiest when he's with you<br/>Crate trained, house trained (not a single accident!), and walks beautifully on leash<br/> Smart & Well-Mannered:<br/>When Hoss arrived, he only barely knew "sit" - now, he's mastered "sit," "stay," "come," and "down," and he's always eager to learn more. He has great food manners too: he'll patiently sit and wait for an "OK!" before diving into his meal.<br/><br/> Social & Sweet:<br/>Hoss is incredibly gentle and handled a visit with 10 guests and two toddlers like a champ - calm, sweet, and totally unfazed by tail tugs and tiny toes. He's an affectionate soul who bonds deeply with his people and wants nothing more than to love and protect them.<br/><br/> A Note on Other Dogs:<br/>Hoss has shown some protective instincts when other large dogs approach his foster family - a sign of his loyalty, but also a behavior that will benefit from continued training and guidance.
