Horton's Story
Meet Horton!
When Horton first arrived at the shelter, he was absolutely terrified — the noisy kennels and unfamiliar surroundings were just too much for this sensitive soul. But everything changed when he was moved to a quieter part of the shelter. Now, Horton is finally showing us who he really is: a sweet, playful, and affectionate boy with so much love to give.
Horton loves to run and play chase — he’s got the zoomies down to an art form! Whether he's darting around the yard or soaking up snuggles from his favorite people, Horton is happiest when he's with someone who makes him feel safe and loved.
This gentle guy is looking for a patient, kind-hearted family who can help him continue to build his confidence and enjoy all the fun life has to offer. If you're ready to meet a dog who just needs a little time to blossom, Horton might be your perfect match.
We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@johnsoncounty.in.gov for an application. You can also find one on our website at http://johnsoncountyanimalshelter.com/adopt/. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can set an appointment to meet the pet!
