Hope's Story

Remember Hope?

Hope came to AugustaDog Adoptions a few months ago. She was found tied to a tree in the woods, VERY pregnant and with no owners in site. The chain around her neck and injury on her back hinted at the type of life she was living before being rescued. Hope delivered and raised her babies in one of our best foster homes and is now ready to find the family who will devote themselves to being Hope's happy ending.

Hope is a young to middle aged adult who weighs 65 pounds. Her love of the people in her life is profound. She is devoted to her foster family and gentle to the grandchildren. She's willing to cuddle anyone at anytime and enjoys movie nights and naps with her humans. Hope is completely house trained, uses a doggie door in her foster home and has excellent indoor manners. Hope even knows how to sit and stay on command!

Because of the suffering Hope indured before coming to us, she does have some special needs that will be manageable in the right home. Hope is looking for a home as the only dog. She is not a dog that you can take to the dog park as she does get too overstimulated in stressful situations. She would be perfect for a homebody who craves the love and devotion of just one dog.

If you are intersted in Hope, we would love to tell you more about her history and what she needs to be a cherished part of a forEVER family.

Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
