Hope's Story
Hope came to Tails of Gray as a timid and frightened little girl who was overwhelmed by the shelter environment. Once she arrived in her loving foster home, her true personality began to shine.
At approximately 9 years old and now down to 14.5 pounds, Hope has been doing wonderfully on her weight loss journey. She weighed 18 pounds when she entered the shelter and has made great progress. With the extra weight coming off, she has more energy, enjoys her daily walks, and has even discovered the joy of occasional zoomies.
Hope is one of the easiest dogs her foster mom has ever cared for. She loves cozying up in her bed, often tucked under a blanket, and enjoys spending quiet time beside her people on the couch or bed. While she can be independent, she has become increasingly affectionate and now happily seeks out snuggles and even gives kisses.
She enjoys short walks, loves tennis balls and toys, and gets especially excited at mealtime. Hope lives peacefully with both large and small dogs, as well as cats.
Over the past month, she has made great progress in learning to trust and be loved. She now greets her foster mom excitedly when she comes home and continues to gain confidence every day. She is still working on her house manners and is making steady progress.
Hope is a gem. She is a sweet, gentle companion who would be perfectly happy spending her days snuggled up beside her favorite person. She will bring comfort, love, and happiness to a very lucky family.
(Hope will be ready to go home after her pending bladder stone surgery).
