Meet Hop
Winnie's Legacy pulled Hop from Fairfield County SC Animal Shelter. He is approx. 1.5 years old, 27 lbs and Heartworm negative. He is in foster care in Crown Point, NY.
Hop has tested well with other dogs and pays no attention to cats. He has been quiet and shy when meeting new dogs. He will attempt to engage other dogs in play, but will give space if the dog doesn't want to play. Loves walks, car rides, snuggles and giving kisses, but will entertain himself chewing on his toys or bones if there's no one to play with. Hop loves to ride in the passenger seat and will curl up and nap if you turn the heat on for the seat. He is not a fan of the cold or snow. He is quiet, not a barker; even if there's other dogs in proximity to him that are barking. He is working on house training and learning some new tricks, like "sit."
Hop would do best with an active family who can continue his training and either take him for walks or have another dog to keep him busy. When he isn't running around, he loves to snuggle in your lap.
Hop was found as a stray on the streets of South Carolina, with another female dog. It is unknown whether he's ever lived in a home. They were emaciated, malnourished, hair loss and overgrown nails. You could see every rib. For that reason, Hop is very food motivated and should be fed separately. He's come a long way since then, and is doing great in his fosters home with her 9 yr old dog.

Please share his Facebook posting so we can network to make a difference in his life. The adoption fee covers pull fee from the shelter, cost we paid to bring them to VT, vetting, paperwork to get them across state lines, shots, spay/neuter (when using our vet), deworming, food and more. Some adoption fees also assist to defray the cost of other Winnies Legacy pooches whose vetting cost exceed their adoption fee as we save all breeds, colors, ages and special needs. (Please do not fill out an application if you're not ready to adopt now or are not able to come to VT to adopt). You can also help by liking, following and sharing our Facebook page Willies Legacy Canine Rescue. We DO accept applications from out of state and Canada. Apply directly at www.winnieslegacy.com/adopt for ease of application process.
