Hooper's Story

1. PLEASE NOTE:
Breed mix info is the best guess of Bark Bark Wag and our vets. There is no way to know for certain what any dog's breed mix is or whether they are "hypoallergenic" without a DNA test.

2. THE FIRST STEP:
Go to www.barkbarkwag.org and click on "Let's Get Started!" to fill out the adoption application; and learn about our easy 3-step adoption process, adoption costs and vet care included!

APPLICATION & INFO:
https://barkbarkwag.org/adopt.html

**IMPORTANT:
PLEASE EMAIL barkbarkwag@yahoo.com WITH ANY QUESTIONS--INQUIRIES THROUGH PETFINDER DON'T ALWAYS REACH US!**

HOOPER
Hooper is an affectionate little goofball with soulful eyes, and THOSE EARS! He was found stray in Flint, dirty and matted, and he was so very happy to be rescued. He had a nice, warm bath and a haircut, and we discovered that he's an adorable cutie with lots of love to share!

Hooper is a darling, gentle and hopeful guy who is a little bit silly and incredibly sweet. He's still a bit skittish in new situations, but you can tell he really wants to trust... he loves meeting kind humans and easily makes new friends.

Hooper enjoys playing with toys, and loves to have a toy box he can pick out favorites from! He doesn't mind car rides, and is happy to be by your side. Hooper loves doing zoomies and exploring in a fenced yard; so his furever home should have a securely fenced yard. (He's first learning about leash walks, and does well wearing a harness).

Hooper is house and crate-trained, though he really hates a crate and would prefer being in a room with a baby gate if needed. He's a polite houseguest, and his foster family welcomes him on all furniture and to sleep in/on the human bed (which he enjoys). He loves to be close to his favorite people, and will cuddle sweetly into your arms and give you tiny kisses.

We don't know what Hooper experienced on the streets or how long he was out there, but he's very anxious around other dogs and unsure how to act. He might occasionally enjoy playdates with another dog he is comfortable with in future, but he much prefers the company of people. He'd love to be the only pet, so he can relax, feel safe, and receive all the attention.

Hooper is a 2-year-old Havanese and Terrier mix (best guess) and weighs 13-14#. He had a dental cleaning recently and was neutered; he's looking forward to finding his "best fit" furever home and family soon!

PLEASE NOTE: Hooper's ideal family will be an adult family, with a somewhat predictable routine so he knows what to expect. He requires a visit to the groomer every 8-10 weeks to keep his skin and coat healthy, and enjoys being brushed a few times a week. (More information on grooming: Havanese/Terrier mixes need regular grooming, because both parent breeds contribute distinct coat traits—the Havanese with its soft, continuously growing hair; and the Terrier with its dense, wiry, or medium-length coat. This mix requires consistent maintenance to prevent tangles, mats, and skin issues).

Hooper will thrive with a kind, patient family who will love him always, keep him safe, and support him as he continues to blossom into the amazing dog he is meant to be.
