Hooch's Story

Hi everyone, I'm Hooch! I'm a senior with a big head, a big heart, big body... and three legs! Yep, I'm a tripod (I'm missing my left hind leg), but don't worry - I get around just fine and it definitely doesn't slow me down. I still enjoy stretching my legs in the yard and taking in all the good smells. After a nice little walk, I'm happiest just hanging out with my people. I'm just a calm, sweet old gentleman. I love people. I mean really love people. After a walk, I'll happily sit down and lean all 75+ pounds of myself into your legs while you scratch my neck, ears, or give me those amazing butt scratches. I could hang out like that all day. I've met another friendly male dog my size and was very polite. We sniffed, walked alongside each other, and just coexisted peacefully. In fact, I came from a really sad situation where I lived with LOTS of other dogs. I may be a senior guy, but that just means I'm past the silly puppy chaos and ready to be your steady, gentle companion. I'm a great big softie who would love nothing more than a cozy home to spend my golden years. If you've got room on your couch (and in your heart) for a calm, kind, gentle giant like me, come meet me! I promise to lean on you - literally and figuratively.
