Honey's Story

Meet Honey — The Soul Dog Who’s Been Waiting for Her Person

Honey is a stunning Black Mouth Cur with a heart as big as her name. She’s intelligent, athletic, deeply intuitive, and in that in-between stage of life where she just needs someone willing to guide her into the incredible dog she’s meant to be.

Her foster family spent about two months earning her trust — and once she realized she was safe, she blossomed. Honey became calm, affectionate, respectful, and eager to be part of everything they do. She bonds deeply, but she doesn’t give her heart away lightly. She’s smart enough to know when someone is truly committed.

Personality
Honey is:
Loyal, sensitive, and highly attuned to people
Energetic and playful, but settles beautifully once fulfilled
A thinker — she learns fast, but she’ll test boundaries if direction isn’t clear
A total lovebug once she trusts you

Training
Honey is:
Crate trained
House trained
Leash trained
Working on polite greetings (she gets excited and jumps)
She’s incredibly smart and responds best to consistency and confident leadership.

Ideal Home
No children under 15 (she matches energy and can be overwhelmed)
No cats
Dog selective — she does best with dogs whose energy complements hers
Someone active who can give her daily exercise or mental enrichment
Someone patient, steady, and willing to earn her trust

What She Needs to Thrive
Honey shines when she’s fulfilled. A 30-minute walk, a structured activity, or mental challenges keep her balanced and happy. When bored, she may make less-than-ideal choices (jumping, barking, chewing), but when her needs are met, she’s the best family dog you could ask for.

Honey doesn’t need perfect — she needs someone willing. Someone who sees past this moment of teenager stage and into the incredible companion she’s becoming.

If that’s you, she’s been waiting!!!!

Adoption fee: $400

All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days.

Our adoption process requires the submission of an online application at JRsPupsNStuff.org. Additional details about who we are, what we do and how to adopt can be found on our website.

JRs Pups-n-Stuff's Adoption Policy
Our process includes the completion of our application. Upon completion of the application we will: Contact your vet for information on current and previous animals. It is critical that you have authorized your vet to release information to us. If you are a renter, we will contact your landlord for verification of animal acceptance, or you can provide a copy of your lease. Complete a background check using publicly available information. If applying to adopt a dog, we will complete a home visit which requires all household members to be present. After the approval is complete you will be free to meet our animals. When meeting dogs, all members of the household as well as any dogs will be required to meet prior to finalizing any adoption. PLEASE NOTE: We will NOT adopt puppies under 6 months of age to families with children under 8 years of age. JRs does adoptions with out of area families. We do the home visit via Skype or Facetime. After an approval we do require that all family members, including any existing dogs, travel to the foster home to meet the potential adoptee. We do not ship animals. Our process is thorough and allows us to make every effort to identify the right match for your family. Please be forthcoming of all information during the process as that is what allows us to find the match. Adding a new family member is FOREVER and will adjust your free time, finances and overall life style. Animal adoption is a serious decision. JR's Pups-N-Stuff, Inc. is a volunteer based organization. Most volunteers have full time jobs and families. Our dedication to helping each and every animal find the right match can take time. Please understand and be patient during the process. Thank you.

Our Mission
Our first dogs arrived through the efforts of two volunteers who drove through the night to the Kentucky/Tennessee border. Holli and her nine 1 week old puppies, and Chiqua who was expecting her puppies any day, were carefully transported back and placed in foster homes, where they would be until their puppies reached eight...
