Honey's Story

Hey! My name is Honey and I am as sweet as my name suggests! I am about 3 years old and weigh about 18lbs.

In March 2025, I was found as a stray in Langley, and taken to the LAPS. Nobody came for me, so I was transferred to the Lower Mainland Humane Society, because they work with fearful dogs like me.

I really love my person, once I know I can trust you. And I even love my person's people, but don't expect me to trust you or your friends right away, it will take time.

I LOVE dogs, I like to follow them and help them chase balls and see what they’re up to. This being said, I would prefer to live in a home with other dogs but no little people

I really like my foster sibling dogs because they give me confidence. My foster mom brings me to the dog park and I love to run FAST. I am SO fast that my head shoots back because it can’t keep up to my cheetah legs! But don't take me there until I have developed a strong bond with you.

It gives me so much joy to run and play with dogs and get treats from all the people I meet. These interactions help me because I was very shy and shutdown when I was found and taken to LAPS.

It’s taken a few months but I’m saying it loud and proud, I am ready for my new home! I will probably always be a bit scared of quick movements and things like my leash tangling my legs. Sometimes I have flashbacks of my life before I was found, and forget that I am safe and sound and loved now.

If you’re looking for a bomb proof dog, I’m not it. I am not for the first time dog owner, or for the inexperienced dog owner.

I will need to experience your patience, grace and gentle love. It might take me a bit of time to trust you but I promise I will come out of my shell in time. I will cherish you, play with you and do the happiest dances you’ve ever seen every time you come home. I have the wiggles that make you giggle!

I do need to be brushed! So make sure you help me because I could get matted if you don’t. Plus my fur flows in the wind so I need to look fresh.

I love to chase small and fuzzy animals so no smaller animals in your home please. Smaller dogs are cool though! I haven’t been around cats but the ones I’ve seen outside I want to chase.

Because I'm fearful of fast, unpredictable movements, I need an adult home only with no little people, and one with a fully fenced yard. This way I can go out for potty breaks without having to be put on a leash every single time.

I’d rather have a calm life in the home with all my adventures outside. That would be perfect for me.

I am a great eater, not picky at all and I am respectful of your space when you eat.

Let’s start our own adventure in this beautiful world together! Where will we go? What will we see? I’m so excited to find out and to meet you.

I am spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. My adoption fee is $695. An adoption application and home visit is required

I'm ready for the next part of my journey. If you think you have the right home for me, please send an adoption application in by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser:

www.lowermainlandhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/
