Honey's Story

Location: Cochrane, AB // Age: Approx 4 Years // Energy Level: Low // Sex: Spayed Female // Dogs: Yes // Cats: Untested but likely yes // Kids: Yes //

Meet Honey – Your Little Couch Companion 🍯 Honey is as sweet as her name and just as comforting. This gentle girl has a wonderfully low-key personality and would love a calm, quiet home where she can settle in close to her favorite person and simply enjoy life at a slower pace. 🐾

For her age, Honey has very low energy—she spends much of her day snoozing, with the occasional short burst of independent play. Her favorite place to be is curled up on the couch (or in bed!) right beside her person. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to keep you company during movie nights or cozy afternoons, Honey is ready for the job. 🐾

On walks, Honey is easygoing and polite. She doesn’t pull, bark, or lunge, and she happily greets new people. She also rides quietly in the car—usually drifting off to sleep within minutes. 🐾 Honey gets along well with people of all ages and is comfortable around kids and adults alike. She can live with another calm dog, but she would also be perfectly happy as the center of someone’s world. She loves attention and prefers not to share her person too closely—she may give a gentle grumble if another dog tries to squeeze into her spot, but she does not escalate beyond that. 🐾

Like many dogs adjusting to a new routine, Honey is still working on her house training and may have occasional accidents while she learns. A patient adopter who can help her build consistency will set her up for success. She also tends to “chat” with little whines when she feels it’s time for extra attention—just one of her charming ways of communicating. 🐾

Honey would thrive in: *A quiet or moderately active home. *Someone who is home often and enjoys companionship. *A household with no dogs or one calm, respectful dog. *An adopter willing to continue her house-training routine. 🐾

Honey adapts quickly and has already shown how easily she settles into new environments. All she really wants is a soft place to nap and a person to love. 🐾

If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will happily keep you company through life’s quiet moments, Honey might be your perfect match. Adoption Process Step 1: Browse Our Adoptable Animals Take your time reading each dog’s profile carefully to see who may be the best fit for your home, lifestyle, and experience. Step 2: Submit an Application Complete our online adoption application as thoroughly as possible. The more detail you provide, the better we can make thoughtful and appropriate matches. Step 3: Application Review A team member will review your application and reach out via your preffered method to arrange a phone interview to learn more about your home and answer questions. Step 4: Meet & Greet If your application is approved, we’ll schedule a meet-and-greet. This is a chance to spend time with the animal and ask questions. Afterward, everyone goes home to “sleep on it” before making a decision. Step 5: Home Check A home check is required for every adoption. This ensures your space is safe and ready for your new pet. Step 6: Reference Calls We will complete reference checks before moving forward to the next step in the process. Step 7: Trial Period (Optional) Families with resident pets or children may request a one-week trial adoption. A $200 deposit is required and will be applied to the adoption fee if the trial is successful. Step 7: Finalization When everyone agrees it’s the perfect match, we’ll finalize the adoption contract. That’s when your new family member officially comes home!
