Honey's Story

Meet Honey – The Sweetest Survivor
Approx. DOB: 2020 | Weight: ~60 lbs | Spayed Female

Honey is the definition of resilience wrapped in a golden heart. When we first met her, Honey wasn’t just broken-hearted — she was broken in body and spirit.

Honey came from a life no animal should ever have to endure. She had been chained so cruelly and for so long that the metal had embedded itself deep into her neck. One of her ears was torn nearly in half. Scars she still carries to this day. Her eyes told us everything — eyes full of sadness, confusion, and pain.

And then we learned she was pregnant.

Despite her own suffering, Honey gave everything she had to her 5 beautiful babies. She was an incredible mother — loving, attentive, and fiercely protective. She nursed them, cleaned them, and taught them to trust a world that had never been kind to her. Her babies have since been adopted… and now it’s Honey’s turn to be the one who’s cherished.

And let me tell you — Honey has blossomed.

Today, she's a bright, affectionate, joyful girl who just loves food and adores people. If you're handing out treats or attention, Honey is first in line (and she doesn’t exactly wait her turn politely — we’re working on that!). She’s very food motivated, which makes training a breeze, but she’ll need a little guidance when it comes to being gentle and having better manners. She’s still learning that she doesn’t need to fight to survive anymore.

Honey craves human connection. Whether it's belly rubs, chin scratches, or just sitting next to you with her big, soulful eyes — she soaks up love like sunshine.

She can be dog selective, so a meet-and-greet with any other pups in the home is required. With the right match, she may be just fine — but her comfort and safety come first.

Honey has been through hell and back, and she’s come out the other side still believing in love. Now, she just needs someone to believe in her.

•Currently at the rescue and available for meet-and-greets
•Up to date on vaccines and spayed
