Honey's Story

12/29: weight is 52.7 lbs Honey has completed her Training School and this is a note from her trainer: "Honey lives up to her name: she is sweet, both with humans and dogs. She has become a very obedient dog and is focused on homework. She is very playful and independent. We recommend that she live in a home where she receives a lot of love and activities and has at least one other dog her age." Sweet as Honey! This girl will steal your heart. Everyone at the Rescue just loves her and we cannot understand how such a great dog could be abandoned to fend for herself in the streets of a dusty Baja town. Honey is simply gorgeous with loving eyes and a resilient heart. She is also affectionate, curious, smart and loves to play. In fact, she fetches like a champ. Born on 2/15/20, Honey is well behaved and listens well to strong leadership. She knows basic commands and loves to strut her stuff on long walks right by your side. Honey has done well in playgroups with several dogs however, she is a bit picky about her playmates. She seems to like other females who are passive and does not like to be bullied by any dog. But Honey has never met a puppy she doesnt just love. Honey would do well as a single dog in a home with adults or a family with grown children who will be strong leaders for Honey. Honey's enthusiasm and energy might be a bit too much for young ones to handle. Honey could live happily with another dog as long as the family is willing to take the time to introduce her slowly and be present to supervise. Initial introductions and play dates with other dogs should be supervised as well. Once she loves you though she really loves you so we believe Honey will be a meaningful addition to any family. Before leaving Cortez Rescue, Honey will be given a full medical assessment to insure she is in optimum health. She was treated for tick fever and has been cleared by the Vet. This pup currently lives in Baja near Cabo San Lucas. Please visit our website www.cortezrescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
