Honey's Story

Meet Miss Honey! This sweet girl has lots of personality. She has been a very respectful guest at our house for three weeks and has settled in well with our routines. She shares a space with our two large dogs and three college aged children. My four year-old black lab isn't overly friendly and she has been very respectful of his space and they have learned to really coexist quite well and occasionally will share a fun sniff and tail wag to each other. Honey does love going outdoors to play in the snow. She definitely has some basic leash skills, and will sit nicely at the door for you to connect her leash to her collar and wait for you to open. She's done well on longer four mile walks, but would do great with one or two short walks a day. She's a pretty chill lady who enjoys her time outside but will come inside and take her nap on the dog bed or if she's lucky enough to be on the couch to take a little snooze. Honey is a happy girl who will greet you or guest that come to the house with a tail wag and maybe just a little bounce of her two front feet! She enjoys her cuddles and pets as well and will often come up and sit next to you when she needs some love. When bored she'll occupy her time with a chewy bone, but for the most part has been a very easy dog to have around the house. She is definitely food motivated and easily goes into her crate when lead with a small treat.I've noticed she can be a little protective of some of her toys, but as long as she has her own ball she will proudly prance around with it to show you! Honey is a little diamond in the rough, and I know she will shine even more when she finds her forever family who is willing to take the time to earn her trust and work with her on some obedience skills.
