Honey's Story

Name: Honey
Age: 10-11 weeks
Weight: 9 lbs (estimated to be a medium sized dog when full grown)
Gender: Female
Breed: Heeler mix

Honey is every bit as sweet as her name. This adorable pup is dog-friendly, cat-friendly, sleeps quietly in her crate all night, and is doing an amazing job with house training. She's the kind of puppy who makes everyone she meets fall in love.

Honey's story started in Texas, where she was rescued from an overcrowded shelter just one day before she was scheduled to be euthanized. After spending the beginning of her life in a shelter, she's more than ready to leave that chapter behind and start the happy life she deserves. And if you ask us, Honey knows she was saved for a reason.

Her tail seems to have only two settings: wagging and wagging faster. She absolutely loves people, especially the 5-year-old child in her foster home, and she's happiest when she's included in whatever fun is happening. Honey's goofy personality shines through in everything she doesincluding her adorable ears, which flop and bounce when she runs and sometimes slick straight back, making her look like a little seal. It's impossible not to smile when you see it.

At the end of a busy day filled with playtime and puppy adventures, Honey happily curls up in her crate with a cozy blanket and sleeps through the night without a peep. She's doing wonderfully with crate training and currently sees her crate as her own special place to relax with a chew bone or Kong.

Honey lives with two large dogs and a cat in her foster home. She was a little shy around the dogs at first, but it didn't take long before she was jumping into their wrestling matches and trying to keep up with all the fun. She adores her canine foster siblings and often follows them around to learn the ropes. As for the cat? Honey is still trying to figure her out, but she's happy to trail behind her whenever the cat allows it.

For such a young puppy, Honey is making exceptional progress with house training. While she's still a baby and will need continued guidance, she already understands the routine and hasn't had a single accident in her foster home.

Honey comes with the full puppy package: adorable mischief, velociraptor teeth, sharp little nails, and endless curiosity. She'll need a family committed to continuing her training, helping her learn, and guiding her as she grows into the amazing dog she's destined to be.

If you're looking for a sweet, playful, affectionate puppy with a heart as big as her personality, Honey might just be your perfect match.
