Honey's Story
Honey is a beautiful, friendly one year old girl who appears to be a Dutch spaniel described as the “little red and white dog with a big heart”. She has a striking appearance with a slender, athletic build. Being intelligent, alert, and active, she definitely fits the hallmarks of this breed. Honey has a lively, cheerful and good-natured personality. She is best suited for active pup parents or families who have time to give her the mental stimulation and regular exercise she needs.

This adorable young lady is eager to please. Honey is potty trained, but may have a submissive pee accident when she gets excited. She has displayed no signs of food or toy aggression, or any aggression at all for that matter. She may be a little shy and wary when meeting new people, but warms up quickly, especially when a treat is involved! She gets along well when meeting new dogs and bonded quickly with the three other dogs in her foster home.

Honey loves to play in the backyard with another young dog in her foster home. They race and chase each other around and around playing tag with swift, agile maneuvers. Honey will require a secure yard to enjoy her frisky energy and zoomies! She would be happiest with ample space to play and explore. While she enjoys being active, she is not especially hyper. She can be calm and quiet indoors where she may nap or play with her toys.

Honey is not a big fan of leash walking. She may try to resist and pop out of her collar, so she requires a walking harness. She needs someone with patience and understanding to help her with this training. It is her nature to jump up on a person as a warm gesture of happy greeting. As with all dogs, she will benefit from gentle, consistent training with clear expectations.

Whoever adopts Honey is going to get one of the best dogs ever! She will be affectionate, loyal, and entertaining and is sure to bring her family an abundance of joy!

If you would like to meet Honey, please complete our adoption/foster application (they’re the same) and put her name at the top. Our application and detailed info about our process can be found on our website: https://dfwcockerrescue.org/adoption-process/

If you are already an approved adopter or foster, please contact us at dfwcsr.adoptions@gmail.com.
