Homer's Story
I won’t lie—my life didn’t start out easy. I was left behind, sick, skinny, and hurting. I didn’t know if people would be kind to me again. I didn’t know if anyone would see me for more than what I’d been through.

But even after everything... I still believe in love and that people are truly awesome! Hi I'm Homer - the handsomest, most affectionate and sweetest most down to earth fella at the shelter right now. I've learned how to play with tennis balls and even learned how to do a sit on command AND I will put my front paw out for a "pawshake"! Ohhhhh, I love to learn new things and be with my humans. YES - despite the pain and neglect I faced, I still want to be with people. I was adopted out to a wonderful family for a short time. Turns out I love car rides to anywhere, kids who will love me back, long naps next to my person, lying in the sunshine, a blanket that I can use as my pacifier, and all the affection you can muster. I'm even housebroken and crate trained. I have so much to offer, and honestly, I don't understand why I'm still here. I used to catch everyone's eye. You humans wanted to meet me. Now, for some unknown reason, no one ever asks about me anymore. I know I need you more than anything now! Don't be deterred; I'm here, and I want to get to know you.

I hope someone out there is looking for a dog like me—quiet, loyal, and endlessly forgiving. Oh, did I forget to mention FUN? When I look into your eyes, I don’t just see a person—I see possibility. A future. A friend. If you’re looking for a dog who will appreciate every kind word, every gentle touch, every promise kept... I’m right here waiting ever so patiently for you to come for me.

With all my heart,
Homer

Featuring photos by Krystle-Lee Photography
