Holly's Story

Meet Holly, one of the nicest dogs you will ever meet. This little Sweetie is also a real lover boy. Holly is 5 years old and about 13 lbs. His main goal is to be cuddled and give love to you with kisses on your hand. Holly also loves to go on walks and check out the neighborhood and is also great in the car. He is good on his leash and doesn’t get all wigged out when he sees other dogs or people. He readily accepts new people coming into the house. He is a spunky kind of guy with a medium activity level.

He’s house trained as long as it’s not raining outside and then you’re going to have to put on a little coat on him and take him outside to get him to do anything. If you send him to the backyard when it’s raining he will come rushing right back in. Holly loves his toys and gets along great with the other four dogs in his foster home. He is a typical rat terrier, compliant and smart. He understands everything you’re telling him and if you scold him a bit his feelings get hurt. You can see he’s very sensitive.

Holly he was born without a rear left foot but don’t let that fool you into thinking he’s slow. He runs faster than the other dogs in his foster home so it’s not an issue for him at all he has no idea he’s missing a foot. He also has very mild seizures every couple of months and what that looks like is he gets all stiff while he’s walking and then he lays down and his legs keep moving. He does not urinate or defecates on himself while this is happening.

He’s been at his foster house for three months already and it only happened once and lasted about 30 seconds. He’s not on medication for this, the Drs. who have seen him for this say he does not need medication for this and they think he won’t in the future need medication either. One of his foster mom's own dogs has the same kind of little ones and she says no big deal.

Holly is a social fellow and wouldn't do well left all day while his parents work unless he has a canine companion to hang out with. He is a really good guy that’s looking for his forever home because he deserves to be loved by you!

Holly is being fostered in San Francisco and his adoption fee is $275.00

Please write to us at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com for more info about this sweet boy or for an application.
