Hollar's Story

Hollar A182047
47 lb . neutered male, approx 2 years old

-This cutie pie likes to
explore and sniff out all the new stuff he encounters
-He likes treats, will sit, and takes them nicely
-I used my squeaker for picture purposes and that set us back. He did not like it and was scared to even come back to the blanket area afterwards. And then he no longer wanted to "sit" for snacks. So he'll need time and patience in that area. 😞 He's a little nervous of quick movements near his head as well. Poor thing
-I got down on the floor and he came and got in between my legs. He enjoys being close for pets and attention.
-He enjoys belly rubs as well
-He's not currently playing with toys
-Seems lower energy
-Walks nicely with minimal pulling if any
-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros

Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids

*Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt

*Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.

*Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.

*There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

*To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.

**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**

*The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30

**1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
