Holes pup: Zig Zag's Story

Head Straight for Zig Zag!

Hi there, I'm Zig Zag—but my friends call me Ziggy. I'm an 10-month-old, 50-pound shepherd mix with a goofy personality, a heart full of love, and just enough puppy mischief to keep life interesting.

I've been growing up with a loving foster family, and they say I'm a total sweetheart. I'm great with kids—gentle, patient, and always down to dance, snuggle, or accept belly rubs from little hands. I've also lived alongside dogs of all ages, and I really shine in a home with playful pups. I do especially well in a pack setting and don't mind deferring to older or more dominant dogs. I'm not sure how I feel about cats yet, but I'm open to meeting one the right way.

Like any young fella, I've got puppy energy! I love playing fetch, chewing on my toys, digging (responsibly, of course), and running around the yard. But once I've had my fun, I'm all about cuddles and being close to my humans. One of my favorite things is just lying by your feet, soaking in the moment—and maybe a little sunshine.

I'm crate trained, potty trained, and I don't have separation anxiety. I have a protective streak, and I'll definitely let you know if someone's at the door. I can be unsure when meeting new people at first, but give me a slow intro, a little patience, and a treat or two, and I'll be your buddy in no time.

I'm a mix of fun, loyalty, and fluff, with just enough goofball energy to keep you smiling every day. Whether you're looking for a trail buddy, a fetch partner, or a snuggle pro, I'm your guy. So, what do you say—ready to zig, zag, and head straight into a furever home with me? Let's meet! You can also check me out on Insta @adoptpupssd.

My adoption fee is $400 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy
We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
