Hoku’s story has taken an unexpected turn. He was once adopted from the shelter and recently found his way back to us as a stray. Sadly, his family didn’t come for him. We don’t know what circumstances they may be facing—but we do know this: Hoku is still full of love and ready to share it.<br/> <br/> <br/>At around 3 years old, Hoku is that just right age. He’s past the puppy chaos but still has plenty of joyful years ahead. What you see is what you get—no surprises, no “he’ll grow out of it.” He’s already the dog he’s meant to be, and it’s a really good one.<br/> <br/> <br/>Hoku is a sweet, fun-loving shepherd mix with a comfortable medium energy level. He enjoys hanging out in the yard with his dog friends and soaking up time outside, but he’s just as happy leaning in for affection and connection with his people. He’s friendly, engaging, and easy to enjoy—one of those dogs that simply feels good to be around.<br/> <br/> <br/>Hoku didn’t give up on people, even when people didn’t come back for him. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too.
