Hickory's Story

Hickory is an adorable puppy who was surrendered to us along with her siblings-through no fault of their own. She's a typical, happy little pup who loves to play hard with her littermates and then crash just as hard for a good nap.<br/>Like most puppies, Hickory is still learning the ropes-she hasn't started potty training or behavior training yet, so she'll need a patient family ready to guide her as she grows. She also knows how to climb a chain link fence, so a secure fence is a must.<br/>She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. Hickory is full of love, energy, and puppy potential-ready to become someone's best friend for life.

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy

When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.

The mission of the Erath County Humane Society is to care for unwanted and lost animals, reunite lost animals with their owners and find homes for adoptable pets. We work closely with our community to decrease pet overpopulation and to provide a safe place for animals as they await their permanent homes.
