Hershey's Story

Hershey is a 5 year old chocolate Pomeranian, about 15 pounds, with a tender heart shaped by a very hard past. He has endured abuse, and because of that he needs a calm, experienced owner who truly understands trauma and patience.

Hershey does best in a quiet, predictable home. He loves children, but only older kids who are gentle and respectful of his space. Yelling or physical punishment is deeply triggering for him and will not work. He will need kind handling at all times, including during grooming, which must be done under medication or with a muzzle for everyone’s safety.

Once Hershey feels safe, his real personality shines. He becomes affectionate, enjoys sitting near his person, and will roll around being silly in his own endearing way. He is still working on housebreaking and will need consistency and positive reinforcement only.

Our biggest wish for Hershey is a home where he will never be hurt again, never yelled at, and never discarded. His adoption is meant to be permanent, but he will always have a safe place to return if needed.

Hershey is located in Conroe, Texas.
Adoption fee is $200.
Rescue: Recycled Pomeranians of Houston.

This boy has already survived enough. What he needs now is someone steady, patient, and kind enough to show him the rest of his life can be gentle.
