Meet Hershey
Meet Hershey!
Hershey is an absolute love bug! He really wants to be a lap dog and enjoys sofa snuggles and naps. Don't let that fool you though, he will be the first to sound the alarm when he thinks there might be danger at the door. Hershey loves rope toys, squeaky toys, tennis balls, leaves and sticks and thinks cats are really entertaining. He has been in a home with 2 of his siblings, 2 older dogs and 8 cats. From time to time, he barks at the cats in a friendly "play with me" type of way from a respectable distance. He will chase them if they run, but backs up when they hiss or act annoyed.
Hershey would thrive with an energetic playmate dog buddy and loves to hang out with older dogs who are somewhat patient, but he would be fine as an only dog if he gets lots of love and attention. Hershey sleeps in his crate all night with minimal accidents. He is an early riser and usually wants to go potty about 530-6am. That being said, he is well on his way to being fully potty trained. He is being clicker trained to sit and to listen. He has mastered "sit" with the clicker and a training treat. He walks well with a harness and leash, as long as you go slow, don't tug on him and encourage him to move forward. If you have an older dog that can walk with him, then he will do just fine. Hershey is highly food motivated and eats like he is starving even with a slow feeder, so feeding on a schedule with a slow feeder is a MUST with this guy. Hershey is just the most adorable smart 3 month old baby and will make a wonderful addition to any family!

Our dogs are fostered in Texas but available for adoption in the Pacific Northwest... with stops in - Lacey, WA, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR. These dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue.
Our out of state adoption fee is $550 for adults and $650 for puppies. This fee includes: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm and flea preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, health certificate, and transport costs.
As a Saving Hope direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc). The adoption application and fee would be finalized prior to transport.
