Herb is a big, sweet, goofy boy! He came from Texas where he was surrendered to rescue when his owner lost his housing. It's obvious Herb was very loved and well taken care of. When Herb was neutered his platelet count dropped dangerously low so he needed a blood transfusion. Unfortunately his owner was not able to pay for the procedure and so he made the difficult decision to surrender Herb in order to save his life. Herb is in foster care and he is doing so well! He is potty trained (no accidents), goes in his kennel easily (well, if you put a treat inside!) and he knows sit. His recall is pretty good and he is dog friendly/nonreactive. He has met a few cats but isn't quite sure what to make of them. He has not chased them but would really like a goof sniff! He should do fine with cats with a slow introduction. He has met older children (8 and 11 years old) and was very sweet. Herb is a little mouthy when he gets excited so older kids would be a better fit. Be ready for lots of kisses! Herb is food motivated but doesn't seem that interested in toys (yet.) He does like bones and rawhide chews. Herb likes walks and is good on a leash. He loves to curl up on the couch or bed where it's nice and comfy. This boy is such a great dog! He would make a great addition to any family!
