Henry's Story

Henry is an almost 13 year old, 20 pound yorkiepoo who was recently surrendered when his parents had to go to assisted living. He spent his whole life with them so it has obviously been an adjustment for him but he is excited to find a new family to spend the rest of his days with.

Henry wants to let you know that he is in excellent health and can run circles around the resident dogs in his foster home who are 3 and 9 and that he can't wait for his walks every day! Henry loves to play with toys and stuffed animals, the squeakier the better and loves to play fetch. Again, not your average almost 13 year old dog!

Henry also LOVES respectful kids and LOVES and we mean LOVES babies! He has been around kids 4 months to 9 years since being with his foster family and has been great with all of them.

Henry likes other respectful dogs but prefers dogs who don’t get in his face or he will snap. It’s more of a defense as he does warm up and likes to play with other dogs. He definitely likes the girls better and we don’t know about cats as he has never been around them.

Henry is a bit of a barker but more in the talking sense and/or watchdog type. He will bark at squirrels outside, or when he needs to go outside, or wants a walk, or if someone is at the door or he hears a loud noise! That being said, he does settle again quickly and loves to be close and snuggle on the couch. Henry doesn’t like his face being touched but loves to have his head and body petted. Henry is fully house trained and sleeps quietly in his crate at night.

Henry was very loved and well taken care of in his previous home and we want only the best for him going forward. He can be a bit protective of his person with the other dogs but he’s a smart dog and is quickly learning how things work in a multi dog household!

Henry is a total busybody and wants to be in the middle of everything that is going on, he just loves it when there are lots of things going on and people coming and going and when he can be your ride or die and go with you to run every errand or on every walk.

Henry says he’s ready to just blend seamlessly into your family as he’s a very easy dog and can’t wait for you to apply for him. Senior dogs are so worthy and Henry is no exception! If you aren’t walking or getting out every day, Henry says you need not apply! He’s taking this second chance very seriously

Henry's adoption fee is $250, which includes: his alter, a microchip, his rabies and age appropriate DAPP vaccines, flea/heartworm preventative, and a deworming treatment while in foster care.

If you think he may be perfect for you, please apply using the link below!

https://www.cognitoforms.com/NorthPawRescue/NorthPawRescueDogAdoptionApplication

**Unfortunately, we cannot adopt out to Canada at this time.

**We require a 60 minute adoption radius. This dog is currently being fostered in Rochester, NY.
