Henry's Story

Hi! I’m Henry. I’m two years old, though I feel like I've lived ten energetic dog years already. I'm a handsome black Lab – at least, that's what everyone tells me while they're scratching behind my ears. I love those scratches! I’m told I’m a handful, but I prefer to think of myself as… enthusiastic.

My days are pretty awesome. The best part is playtime in the backyard! It's got this fantastic fence that keeps me from exploring the whole neighborhood (apparently, chasing squirrels across busy streets is frowned upon). I love to zoom around, especially if I've got a good bone to chew on, or a rope to yank on. My foster mom says I need a fenced in yard to run off my energy. When I'm done running around, I am happy to go into my crate and relax also.

Speaking of playing, I *love* other dogs! The more playful, the better. I think I'm a good candidate for dog parks or doggie day car, if I do say so myself. I haven't met any cats yet, but I hear they're not fans of the "chase" game. My humans are working on my manners. They say I'm "jumpy" and "need training." I’m just excited to see them! They keep saying how smart I am, though, so I know with some hard work and yummy treats I will get it!

My absolute favorite thing in the entire world is tennis balls. If you throw one, I'll fetch it. Over and over. I could do it all day! I have so much energy, I’m told that I might be too much for little humans. I guess their legs aren't as sturdy as mine. And my second favorite thing is car rides...I'm told I'm the best rider ever.

Life is good. I have food, a safe yard, and humans who (mostly) understand my high-octane personality. Now, where's that tennis ball? I think it's time for another round.

If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website at www.lolin.org and click on Adopt, Apply for a Dog. From there, you can submit an Adoption Application to be considered for this dog. You MUST be an approved applicant to meet LOLIN dogs. There is no central location or hours to meet dogs.
