Henry's Story

Meet Henry! He is a teensy 5lb one year little boy who was rescued in Texas. Henry loves to snuggle with humans or under a warm blanket and he's happy to be a purse dog. He's an easy guy who would fit well into any home! His foster says: "If you’re looking for the sweetest pocket pup, Henry is your guy. You can usually find him burrowed under a blanket, cuddled up with you, or doing the cutest little play hops you’ve ever seen. Definitely still getting used to the sights and sounds of the city, he does seem to be pretty fearful outside- but we’re working on it! He may be best suited for a quiet neighborhood or the burbs. Due to that, we’ve been doing some wee wee pad training, and he’s working on it! He seems interested in other dogs, and hasn’t reacted to any we’ve seen. I think he’d be great in basically any home. True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy

First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
