Instead, he was abandoned in our parking lot. But Henry is a clever guy! He just walked through our gates and right up to the back door looking for some help. He was skinny and dirty, yet so sweet. <br/><br/>After a bath and some steady meals, Henry is already looking so much better. He's in a foster home now and doing so well! He is such a loving, mellow and easy going guy. <br/><br/>Henry would do best in a home without other dogs. He prefers all the attention!<br/><br/>Henry would be so grateful to the person who takes him in and gives him the love he deserves. <br/><br/>Henry is 9 years old and he weighs 40 lbs. <br/><br/>Sadly, HENRY tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get him into a home during his treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about his heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering him (we’d love to find him a foster home!). Once his treatment plan is completed, Henry will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions!<br/><br/><br/>ADOPTING A PET<br/>We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.<br/><br/>If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).<br/><br/>FOSTERING<br/>Can't commit to adoption but still want to help us save lives? Consider fostering by filling out our foster application at https://www.kckpd.org/Animal-Services/Foster-a-Pet. All supplies are provided.
