Henry's Story
Henry’s start wasn’t fair. He came from the reservation and was transferred to a “rescue” that was later shut down for inhumane conditions. He spent his early months in a filthy kennel, stacked above other puppies, with no outdoor time, no positive interactions, and no chance to learn what normal life should look like. By the time he got out, he was underweight, parasite-ridden, and shut down.

That history made his puppyhood harder than it ever should have been. Henry didn’t trust people. He clung to his kennel because it was the only thing he knew.

With patience, structure, and real training, Henry has grown into a solid young dog. A little over a year old now, he’s more confident, more playful, and incredibly balanced with other dogs. He’s the dog we use to help introduce new dogs into the group. Henry reads other dogs well, gives and takes correction appropriately, and has a beautiful, controlled play style.

With people, Henry needs a second to warm up. But once he decides you’re safe, he bonds quickly. What used to take months now takes minutes, especially if another dog is around to show him the ropes.

Henry thrives with another playful dog. A home with a friendly, steady canine companion is where he’ll continue to grow and feel most secure.

Henry’s potential adopter must be interested in keeping the forward momentum going with his training. We will teach you how to play with him and keep him on the track of being a confident guy!

If you’re looking for a balanced, dog social dog with a ton of potential, and you have a playful dog who’d like a buddy, Henry is ready. He’s done the hard part. Now he just needs his home.
