HENRY's Story
Henry is absolutely stunning and just as sweet and gentle as can be but something very traumatic has happened to him. Harry desperately seeks your attention and approval but is easily spooked and very unsure if the comforts of home including navigating doorways. It is obvious by his behaviors that he has only lived outside up until he came to us and likely chained up as he paces the extent of his tie out when tethered. He loves the company of other dogs and loves to run free in a securely fenced in area however he is difficult to catch - all fear based - when it is time to come in from play. He loves his crate and does best with routine. He is food motivated but not enough to be “tricked” into anything. He is crate trained and appears housebroken with a regular schedule. He came to us by way of the humane society for routine vetting however was found to be heartworm positive on his initial exam and so was signed over to us for treatment and placement. He would do best in a home with another confident dog, an avid walker or runner who understands positive reinforcement and the need for physical and mental fulfillment with exercise and absolutely no shock collar or ecollar or prong collar training. Harry is learning to enjoy car rides and meeting new people … the key is to be slow and steady with introductions and praise. German Shep mix, 2yrs, 70lbs. Adoption fee $300

If you would like to meet Henry please complete an application for adoption, copy and paste this link into your browser

https://fs17.formsite.com/adoptionscc/form1/
Any vaccinations/boosters due after adoption is finalized will be the new owner's responsibility. All animals are current at time of adoption but in some cases a booster series is required or a vaccine cannot be given due to age and cannot be completed prior to adoption

Our adoptable animals come to us from various sources, the most common being from an animal shelter who is unable to handle their physical or mental needs in the shelter setting but believe with the appropriate care, they can become adoptable.
