Henny was surrendered to the shelter in February of 2024. I think Henny never had a chance to be a puppy and needs a lot of play and exercise. He has now been at the shelter for just over a year waiting for a home. Unfortunately he is very stressed here, and doesn’t really show well for people. We would love to even just find him a foster. Once you’ve had him out in the yard to run and play and burn some energy off, he turns into a pretty sweet dog. His happy place is being outside, with a toy in his mouth. He loves rolling in the grass, and running laps around the yard. He thought about trying to play tug with my leash, but as soon as I told him no he left it alone. He also knows how to sit and pose perfectly!

By the time we were done playing, he was ready to lay down. He didn’t pull on the leash when coming back inside, and stood there nicely with me while waiting for us to do his annual vaccines that he was due for. He can jump VERY high, so a very tall fence or leash walks with a harness would be best.

Henny needs a home with no small animals such as cats due to his prey drive. He has lived with other dogs before, but when tested here he was very pushy and overbearing, though I feel like he would potentially be able to adapt to living with another dog in the future when not in such a high stress environment.
