Hendrix's Story

Boring, OR | DOB: 9/1/2019 | 70 lbs Energy: Low–Moderate | Drive: Moderate

Hendrix is the definition of a Velcro dog. If love were a sport, he’d be a gold medalist. This sweet, sensitive boy lives for affection. He’ll happily melt into your lap and, if you dare stop petting him, he’ll gently place your hand right back where it belongs. His favorite things in life include grooming sessions, massages, cozy cuddles, and anything soft and warm (fresh-from-the-dryer blankets are his absolute weakness).
Hendrix is deeply bonded to his people and thrives on reassurance. When he’s unsure, he sticks close to the person he trusts, looking for comfort and guidance. He’s playful and social with dogs he knows, wonderful with puppies, and would enjoy having a dog buddy but he’d also be content as your one-and-only. Food is the way to his heart, and he has excellent handler focus when treats are involved. He already knows sit, down, shake, spin/center/side, and would love to explore scent work, which he shows great potential for.
In the home, Hendrix is a dream: fully house trained, respectful, non-destructive, and calm. He rides well in the car, behaves nicely at the vet, and is excellent in an office setting as he’ll simply nap while you work. He is, however, a sensitive soul who does best with gentle verbal correction only.
Hendrix is very comfortable with women and needs slow, structured introductions to men. Because of this, we are seeking a female adopter in a calm household with limited male visitors. He struggles with being left alone and requires a very secure, impact-style crate if crated; ideally, he’d thrive with someone who can bring him to work or utilize doggy daycare.
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will give you his whole heart, Hendrix is ready to be your shadow.
