Hendricks's Story

Hendricks – Staffordshire Terrier mix – 7yrs – male (55lbs)

Please welcome our handsome senior, Hendricks! ? This guy was used as a “stud” for a backyard breeder. He was eventually replaced by a younger dog and, instead of caring for him in his senior years, they turned him loose. Sadly, this is not against the law. Animal Control picked him up and we spotted him at that crowded county shelter. We were happy to rescue Hendricks and take on the task of finding someone who will love him for the rest of his years.

Even though we know Hendricks is considered a “senior”, don’t let that fool you! This goofy boy still acts like a puppy. He has energy to burn. ? Hendricks is good in his kennel and only has occasional accidents. He loves people and gets very excited when first meeting them. He can be a bit jumpy and is working on his manners, so we believe he’d be better suited with older kids or adults. He’s still a bit mischievous and lots of fun! We don’t think he had ever been on a leash, but we’re working on it – he tends to pull with excitement and he is quite strong. Thankfully, he’s also very treat motivated. Because of Hendricks’s previous life, we have not been able to mix him successfully with other dogs yet. He is not aggressive, but he gets too excited and overwhelms the other dogs. We believe his best home would be as a single dog; however, he can still be awesome at places that allow dogs, he’s very social. Hendricks really is a fun boy with a big personality. He’s happy, out-going, and very loving. If our senior loverboy sounds like your type of company, please complete our application to get the chance to meet and take Hendricks home!

https://form.jotform.com/91891552799173
